How fun and special that you are part of this edition of the Happy Mail Club (again)! ✨ It is definitely special if you managed to get one, because it sold out in just 3 minutes!!! 😱 I really have no words for it, it feels so unreal. After it sold out, I received a lot of disappointed messages. That feels very bittersweet, it’s great that there is so much demand, but it also feels very frustrating when you work so hard for weeks and can’t make everyone happy...
In the meantime, we have also been working on the next edition for quite some time, which will be even bigger and truly fantastic!! What exactly? That will remain a surprise for a little while 😉 Have lots of fun unpacking, journaling, and reading the magazine!
This is a really stupid mistake... 😭
Normally, I write a whole blog here with fun updates, behind the scenes, and news, but this time I specially designed a magazine for the 1-year anniversary of the Happy Mail Club. Besides all the other work, this was quite a big project and always takes more time than you expect beforehand. I thought it would be really nice to let some customers speak and put them in the spotlight (once again, thank you so much Maud, Josephine & Denise 🥰)
On the day of the deadline, I finished the last pages. In the morning, I started at 7 o'clock at the office packing orders, and then I got to work on the magazine. I still had to make a page and photo for the cover, and I wanted to mention creators who inspire me. At home, I continued in the evening, and before I knew it, it was 1 a.m. I quickly reviewed the magazine and then ordered it. Only after printing did I realize I had made a really silly mistake... 🥺

First, I wrote all the texts and then I started working on the layout of the magazine. Each time, I copied the previous page so I could use the same elements for the next page. Unfortunately, something went wrong here and Lieve Merlijn still has Pip's text, and Femke has Celina's text. I could kick myself, but there's nothing I can do about it now...
Note to self: plan better and work ahead so there’s enough time to check things and you don’t have to be working at 1 a.m. It was all just a bit too much at once. But I am very proud that it all worked out in the end (except for a few mistakes...)
Here are the texts from Lieve Merlijn & Femke after all, because they deserve it. They are both very creative girls and I get a lot of inspiration from their content and projects, so that definitely deserves to be mentioned! 💖

Merlijn (@lievemerlijn) shares a mix of creative DIY projects and her beautiful drawings. She shows how you can combine different materials and techniques to achieve a very beautiful final result. Very fun and inspiring to follow her!
Femke ⭐
Femke (@femkestudio) shares her beautiful artworks. She mainly works with alcohol markers and pencil, and uses a lot of color. In her sketchbook, she also incorporates extra elements like post-its that she integrates into her illustrations. Very inspiring and definitely worth following!

In the magazine, you can already find a nice inspiration page with items from the package, but I have also made another page. Previously, I created a goals page at the beginning of each month. It’s really fun to reflect on it at the end of the month and take a moment to pause. Due to all the busyness, this has faded a bit in recent months, but I really want to start doing it monthly again. On the little calendar, I write down fun appointments and events, so you have an overview of the month at a glance. That’s also very nice to look back on later. I stuck the HMC card as a flap over my goals with washi tape. Hopefully, you’ll find inspiration here too!

On Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 PM, the Happy Mail Club could be ordered (and for subscriptions, already 2 days earlier). Normally, we start the next day right away to make the name tags, assemble the packages, and put everything in boxes. But this time, we first had a full trade fair weekend. On Thursday, we set up our booth in Rijswijk, and then on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we had the trade fair all day. It was incredibly fun to meet customers in person and put a face to the name. The fair ended at 5:00 PM on Sunday, and after that, all the stuff had to be packed up again and the booth dismantled. I was home by 8:00 PM, then I quickly ate, showered, and went to bed. The next morning, we started early again to pack all the Happy Mail Club packages and send them as quickly as possible. Luckily, I had help from my dear mother and boyfriend, and we managed to bring everything, including the weekend orders, to the postNL point before 5:00 PM! We worked very hard for it, and I am proud that we succeeded! 💛
